The Canon EOS C50 is the first cinema EOS camera to offer Open Gate Recording using the entire sensor area. This provides enhanced image quality by enabling recording with a wider angle of view and higher resolution giving more freedom in framing and trimming that can be used in a variety of applications.

The 7K full-frame sensor and DIGIC DV7 processor delivers breathtakingly beautiful visuals with support for enhanced 4K image quality with 7K oversampling. Full-frame readout is supported along with Super 35mm modes.

Plug and Play allows data to be synced with a single cable and no prior calibration required. Lens distortion data is delivered along with other lens operations obtain more natural CG composited images that match and coordinate the real camerawork and the virtual space.

Dual cards slots enable simultaneous recording of XF-AVC, XF-HEVC S, XF-AVC S and proxy data recording to one card while recording Cinema RAW Light internally to the other card for faster video editing.
