Description

Key Features

  • 24.5MP back-illuminated full-frame sensor
  • AI-driven autofocus
  • 4K video capabilities
  • Built-in scene modes
  • Five-axis in-body Vibration Reduction

The Nikon Z5IIC, a full-frame mirrorless camera, is designed for those seeking exceptional image quality without the complexity of mastering the art. This is Nikon's inaugural full-frame mirrorless camera that features built-in scene modes on the mode dial, allowing you to simply adjust the dial to correspond with your scene and capture impressive results, even without a background in photography. The camera is equipped with a 24.5MP back-illuminated full-frame sensor, AI-driven autofocus and 4K video capabilities, offering ample scope for growth. Whether in Black or Silver, as a standalone body or coupled with a NIKKOR Z lens, the Z5IIC is a camera that adapts to your current skill level and evolves with you.

Capture The Spark

Full-frame photography has always come with a learning curve, and the Z5IIC flattens it. Scene modes on the mode dial take away the guesswork, so you can pick up the camera, choose the scene and shoot with confidence. As your skills develop, the Z5IIC's advanced features are ready and waiting.

AI Autofocus with Selectable Subject Detection

At the heart of the Z5IIC is Nikon's EXPEED 7 image-processing engine, driving an AI-powered autofocus system with 273 focus points. Subject detection recognises ten subject types: people, dogs, cats, birds, cars, motorcycles, bicycles, trains, aeroplanes and fish. The camera locks on to what you're pointing at and holds focus, even in light (as low as -10 EV). From a child running across the park to a bird lifting off the water, your subject stays sharp so you can concentrate on the moment. Up to 7.5 Stops of In-Body Stabilisation

Five-axis in-body Vibration Reduction delivers up to 7.5 stops of stabilisation, making handheld shooting at slow shutter speeds effortless. Capture sharp shots in dim cafés and street scenes at dusk, or record steady video without a gimbal. Combined with the 24.5MP back-illuminated full-frame sensor and a standard ISO range of 100 to 64,000, clean and detailed images come easily when the light drops away.

Capture Continuous Frames with Ease

The Z5IIC shoots at 14 frames per second, with an extended burst of 30 frames per second when you need to nail the decisive frame. An electronic shutter speed of up to 1/8000s freezes fast action and lets you shoot wide open in bright sunlight. It's more than enough performance for sport, wildlife and energetic kids.

Streaming and Pro Video Features

Record 4K UHD video at up to 60p (with a crop) and Full HD at 120p for smooth slow motion, with a choice of N-RAW, H.265 and H.264 formats. For those who like to grade their footage, N-Log 10-bit 4:2:0 recording preserves latitude in the highlights and shadows. Microphone and headphone connections, USB-C 3.2 Gen 2 and an HDMI-D port complete a video toolkit that punches well above its class.

Customise Your Look with Imaging Recipes

Imaging Recipes let you dial in a signature look straight out of camera, while a dedicated film grain effect adds character that would otherwise take time in post-production. Your images look the way you want them to from the moment you press the shutter.

Designed for Everyday Shooting

Composing is a pleasure on the 3.2-inch, vari-angle monitor, which flips out for vlogging, low angles and overhead shots. A single SD UHS-II card slot keeps things simple, and a battery rating of around 350 shots per charge via the monitor means the Z5IIC is ready for a full day out. Weighing 620g with battery and card, it's easy to take wherever the day leads.

NIKKOR Z 24-50mm f/4-6.3 Lens

If you want the smallest, lightest way into full-frame, this is it. The 24-50mm is a compact, easy-to-carry standard zoom pitched squarely at first-time full-frame mirrorless users, and at roughly 51mm long and 195g it was the shortest and lightest zoom in its class when it launched. The retractable barrel collapses when you're not shooting, so the whole kit slips into a small bag or even a jacket pocket. Three aspherical elements and two ED elements keep images sharp with well-controlled aberrations, a stepping motor drives quiet, smooth autofocus that suits both stills and video, and the barrel is sealed against dust and moisture. It covers 24mm for landscapes and interiors through to 50mm for portraits and everyday snapshots, which is exactly the range most people live in. For a beginner using the Z5IIC's scene modes, it's the no-fuss option that just works.

Our expert's opinion

The Nikon Z5IIC Silver with NIKKOR Z 24-50mm f/4-6.3 Lens is a full-frame mirrorless camera that offers exceptional image quality without the complexity of mastering the art. It's equipped with a 24.5MP back-illuminated full-frame sensor, AI-driven autofocus, and 4K video capabilities, making it a versatile tool for both beginners and seasoned photographers. Whether you're shooting in black or silver, as a standalone body or coupled with a NIKKOR Z lens, the Z5IIC adapts to your skill level and evolves with you, making it a worthy investment for anyone passionate about photography.
