The Canon PowerShot G5 X is a compact camera with a 1-inch type sensor and approximately 20.2 million pixels. Its 4.2x zoom lens covers 24-100mm in 35mm terms, with an aperture of f/1.8 at the wide end and f/2.8 at telephoto. It has an electronic viewfinder and a 3.0-type LCD.

Lens
The 4.2x zoom lens is 8.8-36.8mm, equivalent to 24-100mm on a 35mm camera. Its aperture opens to f/1.8 at the wide end and f/2.8 at telephoto. Image stabilisation is the lens-shift type.
