The Leofoto LY-265CF Mr.Y Series is a five-section carbon fibre tripod with an inverted ball head, in black. It extends to 1580mm (1330mm with the centre column down) and weighs 1.25kg.

Gear lock and inverted ball

The three part gear locking system replaces traditional knobs and levers. It gives damping feedback and avoids sudden camera movement. The precision machined inverted ball has a lower centre of gravity and a compact footprint, with dual notches and panning built in. Half of the ball sits in the apex bowl, reducing vertical storage space.

Flip locks and leg angles

The flip leg locks were redesigned to speed up operation and reduce the size profile. Leg angles are 23, 42, 62 and 82 degrees. The 42 degree setting was added for stability when shooting in wind.

Centre column and packing down

The elongated centre column lock adds stability. The triangular centre column lets the leg tubes collapse tighter than a traditional column. The centre column can be removed using the apex locking lever and by turning the weight hook.

Low angle shooting

To shoot at low angles, rotate the ball head 90 degrees vertically, then use the included hex wrench to split the centre column into two sections.
