This ultra-wide zoom covers a wide-angle to portrait-length range and is designed specifically for FX-format Z-mount mirrorless cameras. The strong optical design of the lens features a range of special elements, which further contribute to the enhancement of the quality of images delivered. Top three reasons we think you will love this lens This Nikkor Z lens is equipped with four aspherical elements and four extra-low dispersion elements.

Together, these elements work to counter spherical and chromatic aberrations to realise sharp imagery with greater contrast and clarity. Each of the special elements in this lens have a nano Crystal Coat as well as a Super Integrated Coating. This feature drastically minimises surface and internal reflection for a marked reduction in lens flare and ghosting.

Thanks to this feature, you can easily use the lens in bright shooting conditions without worrying about the distortion of image quality. The lens barrel is sturdy as well as dust and moisture resistant. This gives you the flexibility to carry the lens along for outdoor shooting.

Additionally, the elements of the lens feature a fluorine coating that further adds to the protection of the optical system. This keeps the optical system safe from dust, grease and water droplets. Sharp and True Imaging The lens offers a focal length range of 14 to 30mm and an aperture range spanning from f/4 to f/22.

With a minimum focusing distance of 28cm and a maximum magnification of 0.16x, the lens works just as well for close-up shots, too. It features a powerful optical design of 14 elements in 12 groups. This 14-30mm lens flaunts a seven-blade rounded diaphragm, which enhances imagery by adding a soft and subtle yet impactful bokeh.

The constant f/4 maximum aperture offers consistent performance throughout the zoom range. It also contributes to a relatively lightweight design and compact form factor. The specialised electromagnetic aperture mechanism provides greater exposure control stability.

This feature is particularly beneficial when working with fast continuous shooting rates. Fast Autofocus The stepping motor in the Nikkor Z 14-30mm lens delivers a smooth, quiet and superquick autofocus system, making it well-suited for both photo and video applications. With full-time manual focus override and an excellent internal focusing design, the lens is capable of maintaining its overall length during use, thus adding to the focusing speed.

The programmable control ring is set to adjust the manual focus by default. However, it can also be used to control aperture or exposure compensation. Our experts opinion An excellent choice of lens for a mirrorless system, this product is undoubtedly one of the best lenses in this range.
