Pickup Pattern and Feedback

The supercardioid pattern rejects more off-axis sound than a cardioid pattern and resists feedback more strongly. Compared with the SM58, the Beta 58A is more sensitive and has more high-end frequency response.

Construction and Output

The neodymium magnet gives higher output levels and a higher signal-to-noise ratio. The hardened steel mesh grille is built to resist wear, and the pneumatic shock mount reduces the transmission of mechanical noise and vibration.
