Sony FE 50mm f/2.8 Macro Lens

The brand Sony is known for its amazing lenses, which are popular amongst photographers across the world. Among these advanced, powerful lenses, the Sony FE 50mm f/2.8 Macro Lens, as the name suggests, is perfect for macro photography.

This FE / E mount is compatible with E-mount full-frame cameras as well as E-mount APS-C cameras. The lens is exceptional in terms of specifications, technicalities, and output. It has a focal length of 50mm with an aperture range of f/2.8 to f/16. The lens does not feature a hood, but it has an exceptional front element which keeps the lens well protected from unwanted glare.

Compact, lightweight, and portable, this lens is more popular than its bulky macro lens counterparts. The lens is dust and moisture resistant, and you can carry it for your outdoor macro photography expeditions without any worries.

Sharp and True Imaging

The lens has excellent optics and delivers super-sharp output. It has a wide manual focus ring that operates electronically and moves smoothly, giving you the required flexibility for a perfect macro shot. The aperture is formed by a diaphragm with seven blades, which gives the lens a rounded layout. This circular aperture creates beautiful defocus effects, which accentuate the appearance of your macro shots.

The lens construction is eight elements in seven groups. It flaunts one aspherical element, plus one that uses the ED (extra-low dispersion) glass. The lens also offers outstanding sharpness from f/4 to f/8.

Fast Autofocus

The focus locks on the viewfinder amazingly, especially at closer distances. The lens can focus down to 0.16m, giving you a maximum zoom of 1.0x or 1:1. This is the right focus distance at which you can capture a life-size shot of your subject.

Behind the manual focusing ring, the lens features three controls. The upper one is the AF/MF switch. The middle one is the focus lock button, which allows you to fix the focus and then manually lock it. The third control selects the working range of the AF.
