Electronic viewfinder

The EVF-21 is designed exclusively for the fp2 and connects through the camera's USB Type-C port. Its 0.5-inch OLED has approx. 5.76 million dots, approx. 100% coverage and 0.88x magnification. Diopter adjustment runs from -4.0 to +2.0, with an eye point of approx. 19.5mm. The viewfinder has an eye sensor. It weighs 110g with the EC-51 eyecup.

Sensor, stills and autofocus

This body has a 35mm full-frame partially stacked CMOS sensor with approx. 24.5MP effective resolution. Stills are recorded as 14-bit lossless compressed DNG RAW or JPEG at 6016 x 4012 pixels. Autofocus combines image-plane phase detection with contrast detection, and subject detection covers people, animals and birds, with Eye AF. Electronic shutter speeds run from 1/25600 second to 30 seconds.

Video and cine features

Video can be recorded in Apple ProRes RAW HQ, ProRes RAW (12-bit), H.264, H.265 and L-Log, with 6K OpenGate recording. ProRes RAW reaches 6K at 29.97 fps and 4K at 59.94 fps. Electronic image stabilisation works for video, but not in 6K. Continuous recording runs up to 2 hours. The Director's Viewfinder simulates framing for ARRI, Sony and RED cinema cameras.

Screen, storage and connections

A tilting 3.15-inch touch LCD of approx. 2.1M dots tilts up approx. 90° and down approx. 45°. Approx. 70GB of internal memory keeps recording when the SD card is full, and the SDXC slot supports UHS-II. Ports are USB 2.0 and USB 3.2 Type-C, HDMI Type A 2.1 and a 3.5mm mic jack. Webcam mode is available.
